I'm hearing/reading people saying "I'm old school, therefore..." So out of curiosity's sake, where is that ever-moving line?

My primary drill instructor was an E-7, WWII vintage who scared the daylights out of us when teaching bayonet drill with the Garand M-2. His eyes always glazed over during his instruction. (Feb 1960 at Fort Knox)

If you ever melted Paste Wax in the can and used it to shine barracks room floor in preparation for inspection. Once a month take the old wax off, get it all mopped clean, heat and spread the wax, buff it in with the buffer, and finish if off with the toilet seat cover.

When the army work week was 5 1/2 days and the Saturday duty day was comprised of uniform and barracks inspections.

When I enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1967, my Bn SgtMaj who landed on Iwo Jima as a Pfc was "old Corps" (old school), my nephew who's in the Corps now considers me old school, his son who's 3 and will keep the family tradition of service going will consider his dad "old school".
So . . . "old school" is the tradition of handing down the values that we all cherish. Our values are all the same, irregardles of branch . . each service branch has its own traditions, but our values are all the same . . from generation to generation.
