Yellow footprints, trained with M-1, M14 and M16 in Nam. Also trained with BAR, 45, Bazooka, flame thrower and the PRC10. Drove the M38 and the M151. Damn I feel old.

Maj Bob below identifies quite a few clues - but add: issued wool OD WW2 dress uniform, Korean area field jacket, No MREs - just WW2 meals in a box along with shaving in a steel pot, driving a genuine Deuce and a half (GMC with hydromatic transmission), and a long-body litter jeep with 4 patient litters aboard. Barracks were WW 1- era buildings with coal-fired hot water heaters and furnaces. Active duty 1956-57-58, NY Army National Guard 1954-55-56

When you could actually dig a fox hole or a latrine
Having to actually polish your Lee quarters.
Using the blue kiwi to make your spit looking shinier
Using baby oil to make your vehicle shine for dog and pony show.

If you ever: Shared a 'pup tent' (shelter halves); ate a John Wayne bar or and a "C" Rat, rode in a Quarter ton Jeep with trailer; wore a 'steel pot', patrolled the 'Fulda Gap', wore a White Hat with MP Brassard in either Class As or Bs, ran PT in Combat Boots, green T and fatigue pants, WORE Fatigues with soft cap, wore a **** cap, wore 1505s (USAF) or the Army 'Tan' Uniforms, burned Kiwi and actually spit shined your boots (three pairs - one for inspection, two to wear) and the list goes on!

If you sailed on a 205' "fast attack tug" while in the Coast Guard... Or you "jumped" a buoy from a 180' WLB...
