How about coming ashore in landing craft on red beach 2 on 10/Apr/65. but wait ....thats not what makes you old school its wearing a flak jacket complete with what we called in the Corps as a diaper which was protection for your lower half held up by shoulder straps its the first thing we were able to lose with out having to pay for!

When your date of enlistment was BEFORE the date of birth of a young soldier just joining the unit, Then you're Old School. Also, I drove an M35A2. An M880 series, Gamma Goats, Goers, Short tube M109A1's. A gas powered M113 (not diesel)-That is old School. Does working on M1008 and M1009's qualify?

Didn't ever wear yellow t-shirt or shorts. Took PT in Olive drab uniform or utility's. Not only drove deuce and a half but worked on anything including tanks and wheeled vehicles. Had to pass PT test!
