Didn’t have mres, C rations are what we got. And if I remember correctly, we weren’t issued yellow pt shorts.

If you know what it means to "break starch", qualified with the M-14, know what a "fire can" is. Wore khakis,

To me being labeled as Old School should be taken as a compliment. It means you are upholding standards where the lines are blurred and you are cutting through red tape and getting the job done!

When your favorite Poncho Liner is a few years older than the First Lieutenant that just reported for duty under your supervision, you are indeed "Old School."
If you remember conducting Pistol Qualification with and carrying an M1911A1, you are probably Old School. If you had an M3 Grease Gun in the vault when you were the Company Arms Room Officer, you can count yourself on the "Old School" rolls.
When you still have a Dehydrated Pork Patty you salvaged from the DARK Brown Bag MREs you recently pulled out of storage, you must be "Old School."

Starched OD Green Khaki Uniform with Cap! Spit shined boots w/leg inserts to form a straight leg appearance. Singing, “C-130 rolling down the strip....” during PT and singing, “Old soldier, combat soldier, pick up a weapon and follow me, while marching. I retired from the Army in 1996, and soldiers called me “Old School” then. No sure what “old school’ means today, but carry the tradition, because as others paved the way, you too must become “Old School!”
