Driving the old cattle cars and PRAYING that when I was stopped on a hill, I wouldn’t stall, or worse yet, slide back down the hill! Living in WWII barracks at Fort Jackson, SC, Tank Hill and having roving guard and fire patrol!

Even though you voted for Reagan by absentee ballot from from the barracks, you’re still in uniform in 2023.

Don't forget the Lucky Strike Green, smokes in the C-Rations. Opening your C-Rats with your P-38.

As an old Corpsman I remember the medicinal value of Charlie Rats cheese (Stopped the runs). Never had seen "Wings" cigarettes before opening those rations. I remember WWII dressings in my Unit One with sulfa packets that had caked up 20 years before. I remember Kool Aid helped the flavor of "Water Buffalo" water. I remember thinking they'll never improve on the M14....still do.

MAJ Robert (Bob) Petrarca,
You forgot “C” rations, P-38 and firing .22’s with an adapter on the M-16.

Well been in many deuce and a half, used gammas to mount tank killing rockets "wire guided " shoveled coal to keep the barracks warm at Ft. knox, Ft Polk and "Camp Drum" our C-rats were made in 1942, and we walked a ton. Never bothered carrying shelter halves or sleeping bags we did our work at night. We had 1 starlight scope per platoon.
