Running PT in fatigues and boots. Being told when summer was and we had to roll up the sleeves, and when winter came and the sleeves came down.
oh, those were the memories , back in 1979-to 1982 there were gamma goats , there still maybe old barracks I think they are on tank hill Ft Jackson, South Carolina , I never wore PT shorts during boot camp training at Ft. Dix , New Jersey , and the old M-16 RIFLE , I think the M-16 may have been upgraded back in 2002 the year I retired from the Military.

Please do not forget having to run thru the over-head bars before eating chow, and the PT test with the Crab-walk, run dodge and jump, and the ever popular confidence tower.

When your boot's had to be spit shined from top to bottom and tip to tow. Your uniforms had to be ironed and pressed at all times and a drill Sargent making up new F word's
for you . When you'r flag vest weight more than you rifle. lol

If you we’re awakened on the first day of boot camp with a trash can bouncing off the floor. If you were relentlessly humiliated for absolutely no reason in an inspection, so many other “unusual” practices in boot camp.

For sailors, remembering when you were in style with your bell bottom blues, and remember how comfortable dungarees were, were encouraged to sing cadence about killing commies for your mommy, remember who the sweet ones were when they were not allowed to ask or tell but still did their jobs well (Warrior Princess, never met him glad he served), know and have stood in the package store on base on a Friday with a Saturday pay day they decided not to pay early and had to gather two buddies and pool resources for $5.47 and decided, "Yup. That seals it, three fifths of Grape Mad Dog have more alcohol in them than Orange Mad Dog." <---True story, not going to ever talk about the shenanigans we got into because of that. Old School.

I remember this quote from my Sgts when I was just a young LT. "We had the brown shoe army, the black shoe army, now we have this army."
