What constitutes being "old school" in the military?

I know he USAF isn't as old as the other branches but I was issued fatigues that had to be starched, chukka boots along with combat boots and low quarters which all had to be spit shined. If you weren't in maintenance you wore 1505s (tan) uniform until they were phased out in the late 60s or early 70s. I ate C-rats on deployments and discussed the difference with older guys who remembered K-rats. I also remember rank meant something to those who had less than you.

Old school used to be push-ups "until I'm tired" (yelled by a Non-Comm wearing brown boots).
