I'm hearing/reading people saying "I'm old school, therefore..." So out of curiosity's sake, where is that ever-moving line?

You are old school if your SSN is stamped on your Dog tags.
And you cooled your beer at the end of the runway with the used Argon canisters from the Aim-9 missals.

No, we were old school when they issued us serial numbers and they started with
RA for those who enlisted and US for draftees.

I'd say, it's soldiering. Knowing your job and meshing with your team. Leading by example and definitely not being too PC. But, if you know your art. of freedom, constitution etc, you don't need to be PC. People are only like that because they don't know their rights and limitations, IMO, "All your life you will defend a code against those have none."- Gen Hal Moore.

don't have the book at hand:
"The Quartermaster" 'Lincoln's General'
Biography of Montgomery Meigs
in the the Civil War he invented Army uniforms of Small, Medium, and Large,
and the shelter half because he hated the Sibley tents because they took up so much room in the wagons that they couldn't be used to haul ammo
Fantastic book!
handled the entire war budget and none of it went into his pocket!

You are "old school" when you are not able to conform to the new generation. Soldiers think it's "cool" to say they are "old school". All it does is tell everyone else you are not able/willing to adapt to your current surroundings.
