What constitutes being "old school" in the military?

"Old School" refers to whether you enlisted before someone else. . . .

Ok so some of y’all are truly old school, but can we all agree if you polished boots and had to iron your uniform, you are pretty old school?

old school .......1964 thru 1967

Say, fellas, I originally ran in t shirt, green fatigue pants and combat boots. I eventually got upgraded to gray PT shirt with matching gray shorts and running shoes. But I meet the rest of your criteria. BTW, I have been retired for 28 years, so I guess I am bordering on ancient!

Basically anything you did that is done differently or no longer done now is automatically "old school."

The way things have gone the last few years "Old School" is anyone who still has last week's uniforms in their closet.

The only folks I've ever heard talking about being old school were punks!

C rations and combat boots, O.D. green fatigues with white tee shirt for PT. Guess I'm really old school.

U.S. Armed Forces are constantly adapting to changes in garrison, combat, and the country itself. If you are still serving, your ability to adapt will continue. If you are retired or have ETS, your mindset is determined by the error you served. To me, that mindset denotes what is "old school" to an individual.

CRats, P38, ham and eggs and if you lucky, you may have heat tabs, if not and the sun is hot that works as just as well only a little longer if you have the time.
