CSM Poll:

My family was snowed in for a week. I sat and listened to my Husband and made him an old fashion dinner. I shared a small box of candy and reminisced on our 20 year relationship.

I have to laugh I had to push up our wedding due to it conflicted with the mission that I had to go on. I married my Husband and the next day I was on a flight to Israel. I was harassed for my nails being out of regulations.

I have been blessed by God, with a genuine loving Husband. He is definitely a keeper.

I got mine two Diamond Candles. Its a really cool concept, theres a diamond ring valued at $10-1000+ in each candle. She loved it! Cant wait for the candles to burn down far enough to get the rings.
Being in Kuwait, we had the typical Skype date and she got surprised with a Michael Kors Purse.

Deployments on these holidays are always hard. I am happy you have the ability to skype! Keep in touch with her! Let her know how important she is, cause it is difficult for her in the rear without you!

CSM,
Here in USAEUR we had a training holiday but the kids went to school, I got to sleep in a little and then made some breakfast for the wife. I also made Valentines baskets for my two daughters with stuffed animals and some chocolates. Filled out their cards and then did the same for my wife. Later that night we all went for dinner.

Valentines Day wasn't really celebrated..when you have Staff Duty and on the trail...but I hope everyone else's was good.

SSG Greer, I hear you.... didn't do any celebrating here at Bagram either, lol! Still curious why our DFAC went out of their way to put up Valentine's Day decorations. Seemed like a slap in the face to remind everybody that they are alone on a holiday that is all about NOT being alone. Oh well, just more Army genious at work.

SSG Greer,
I hated the time on the trail because you don't have ANY! I see you are at FLW, that is the same place I did my trail time. F and C 35th. Well all I can say is keep your head up and DO NOT DO a third year!

V/R

1SG Haro

1SG that is awesome, bet it was nice to sleep in. SSG Greer take it from someone who has been there and done that I know how much it sucks, make up for it on your next day off tho! My wife and I will be celebrating on Sunday as I am working today as well! SFC Carothers, dont take it as a slap in the face, they are attempting to make it more barable even tho at times it really reminds you of what we left in the rear. Stay safe at Bagram, I just left there recently.

CSM Michael Poll , are you looking for pointers from the romantics in the room?......JK. I know it isn't flashy or romantic, but with 4 kids..........
I always did the most horrible, disgusting, nastiest, dirtiest task from the honey do list. That one thing that you always put off for the previous 364 days. Of course I'm divorced now, so my ideas are suspect.

Ever since we were dating I always told my wife that I don't celebrate Valentine's day. I think it's just a big marketing scam. But it don't bother her much since I take her out almost every weekend on trips or stores to buy her stuff and take her out to dinner at least once every 2 weeks or so. I think it's safe to say that we "celebrate" Valentine's day all year long.

In 28 years of marriage, my girl and I have never celebrated Valentines Day. Not once.
All year long I show her how much I love her and how lucky I am to have a woman so far out of my league. We don't need one specific day that thrives on guilt, envy and commercialism to foster our romance.
Not trying to bring down anyone else who does celebrate, its just not for us.
