Don't quite remember mine but I think they were something like Presidio of San Francisco, Vicenza, Italy and Spain or Japan. After Jump School, I received my orders to Ft Bragg ... So very not like any of my choices.

When I first went Active Duty back in 1996, I put FT Carson, FT Lewis, and Hawaii............I got FT Irwin

MSG (Join to see) - I must have. But, in the end, it was a great assignment. The Combat Engineer unit I was in was probably the best unit out of all of the ones I've been in. Plus Vegas was just down the road.

I had Ft Irwin, Ft Ord, Ft Lewis, and Ft Wainwright on mine, I was sent to none of them. I picked the least desirable just to see if it would happen.

I was 3rd in my class, so the day we graduated they had orders for all of us on the board, and we got to pick in order of class standing. I picked Yokota AFB, Japan. So, no dream sheet for me.

Not to be S/A but what was on is what I did not get. I had Japan, Philipeans, (Maybe that is why I didn't get it couldn't spell it right) Alaska. Never ran into anyone in 22+ years that ever got what they wanted.

Yours is the common experience. However in giving the list the unofficial nomenclature of "Dream Sheet", never let it be said the military oversold our selections as an actual possibility. Sometimes I wonder what would have happened if I had selected 1. S***hole 1, 2. S***hole 2 and S***hole 3.

That was my thoughts exactly In my picture you can see I got married as an SFC, that happened in Egypt only time I wore a uniform while I was there and that was in our own building.

After I left Vietnam I put in as 1st Choice USAF Hanscom Field, MA and got it, next 1st choice, Lowry AFB, CO, got that also then Hickham, AFB, HI, got that also. Three first choice bases in a row !
