In a conflict with very few "good guys," I think we should have quietly encouraged the Russians to support Assad from the beginning. It would have promoted stability, and helped keep a damper on ISIS.

In my opinion who cares. We as a country have bases in so many other countries I probably couldn't name half of them. If they want to build a base in a war torn country to aid in a losing and pointless fight then let them. Heck who knows, maybe the Russian's lack of caring for following rules will scare ISIS a bit there. They may actually inadvertently do some good.

What do we do about the Russians building an air base in Syria?

Nothing. Exactly why do we have more right to be there than they do? We are the ones who are trying to overthrow the government.

Good Recruiting Tool for Navy CTI's RULINGS (Russian Linguists). Some of my best friends were RULINGS but towards the end of my Career worked more with PERLINGS (Persian Linguists) ARLINGS (Arabic Linguists) and FARLINGS (Farsi Linguists).
