Soldiers can do EIB and EFMB, but cannot wear those badges unless they are in that field. I think it would be a good idea to have an expert Soldier/Field badge to display proficiency and expertise in being a Soldier.

No on the badge. There are boards for the experts and outstanding. Soldier of the month\year. The Sgt Morales board and many others. Having soldiers prepare for something like this could be an everybody wins kind of deal. Sorry, but IMO, it's a waste of time and resources.

Well upon graduating from basic training, a soldier can be awarded this badge. Then after graduating from MOS school soldiers could be awarded a star. This badge will let everyone know you were proficient at basic and mos school. Everyone in the Army should get one.

To much emphasis on a badge. Graduating from your MOS school should be sufficient to demonstrate you are proficient and capable of doing your job. Perhaps a badge should be awarded upon completing basic training and MOS school.

You would test proficiency with : weapons, communications(radio), land nav, NBC, critical thinking and physical ability.

It would represent that Soldiers have not just checked the block of receiving instruction, but displayed excellence in those tasks. I think it would be a great way for Soldiers to set themselves apart form their peers. Kind of like best warrior competitions, but there could be more than one person getting the recognition and also getting some chest candy. Also if it were made to count for promotion points, a lot more Soldiers would get after it. It would increase competiveness and expertise among our ranks.

It's a good idea, but we have these checks and balances already in place and if units do it right it's used as a units order of merit list (OmL) which as a result would afford that high speed soldier to attend special schools or training. Overall I think it's a good idea, I would keep it at the local level though or make it somewhat like the APFT badge, where you lose it if falling below a certain score or PCS, this forces soldiers to constantly keep trying to improve themselves even.
