I do not celebrate mental illness month called pride month. It is a mental heath issue and those dummies need to wake up. There is no reason for that garbage in the military.

I volunteer my time to set-up and serve junior enlisted members in our local USO with bi-monthly no-cost family dinners and a big dinner and gift giving at Christmas.

I let my daughter handle business. Especially tech based business. She finds stress relief in yoga.

First, you have to realize that it is a never ending journey. Second, you have to confront your triggers and deal with them immediately. You can not deflect by occupying your mind with other things. Lastly, those close to can not really help as they don't truly understand your journey. However, a service animal or your pet understands you far better than people or professionals can, so allow them to calm you when things get tough.

I am a volunteer Interior Fire Fighter and EMT. It is my way on continuing to give back and protect. In turn it helps me with a purpose and a mission. In addition to this, going to the gym 5-6 days a week both keep me on track and help my personal mental health.

I hit the gym. Nothing like being grounded when working out with weights. I focus on the breath and the moment. It's not easy and sometimes I sway when the PTSD kicks in but somehow I manage to get back and I'm thankful for it every time. I also do yoga and read non-fiction psychology books that help me understand what I am going through.

I do gardening. I have huge corn stalks getting ready to pop out some ears of corn. Also squash, tomatoes, bell peppers. I also have a cherry tree, apricot tree, almond tree, and three fig trees. I love canning.

I try to talk about what I am feeling. I say that I try, because sometimes it is very hard for me to explain it the best I can. I feel if I talk about it and be completely honest. It will help me, it may confuse people that I talk to. But, in the end they understand and my mental health stays sane.
