SFC (Join to see) - Yes, 'plunging fire' and 'grazing fire' works better with copious amounts of ammunition directly available. ;-)

Been shooting since I was 8…That has been over 60 years and I am still able to put them down range in an accurate manner although I have to wear contacts because the no line bifocals drive me nuts. Love the range. Oh, do I love my firearms. Some things we are born to and they come naturally.

California has absurd gun control laws. I don't disagree with the notional goal of keeping guns away form people that will misuse them. Unfortunately, criminals don't follow rules by definition. This just ruins the ability of law-abiding citizens to enjoy a day out on the range.

What is needed, far more than arbitrarily expansive gun control laws, is actual enforcement of mandatory sentences for people who use firearms in a crime. If you commit a violent crime with a gun, the mandatory 10year sentence should not be something that can be plead down to 6 months of probation. But this is going to get me running down the rabbit hole of systemic crime and why a lot of our laws aren't goign to solve the actual problem, so I'll stop myself here. California gun laws suck. I miss PA (although the food and ladies out here are another story...)

PVT Mark Brown - I have long been of the opinion that we should contract out our maximum security prisoner captivity to desperately poor 3rd world countries. Pay them a fraction of what it would cost to keep them here, with heavy fines for any suspicious deaths and even heavier fines for escapees, and yearly bonuses for 100% good records. That would free up facilities here and reduce overcrowding.

Now that is a great idea. Sounds like a win-win. Security in transportation may be an issue as well as honesty in the host nation.

SSgt Christopher Brose - My HOR was Attica, NY. The there are 3 correction facilities in my county, including the max security one. They employ the family. I had thought about working there myself but instead, we came to NH to avoid the Taxation w/o good representation in NYS. Your ideas are very good. Also, figure that there would be few escapes because the inmates would not like the sand, bugs, vultures, and hot conditions in the 3rd world countries. They like good conditions and riot when they are not getting what they want. Just threatening to open the doors would be a threat they couldn't withstand.

PVT Mark Brown - I wouldn't trust the honesty of any of those nations either, that's why I'd give them significant financial incentives, both positive and negative, to keep the prisoners safe and secure.
