It just came out that black socks are now going to be allowed in with the APFU and the new IPFU. They still have to be between over the ankle and calf length.

Some people are mad that the army wasted time and resources to make this decision. I think having this is an option will not only make the uniforms look a little bit nicer, but has the potential to boost the morale of the troops. What do you think?

CH (1LT) (Join to see) I'm sorry, but if black socks (yet another item to buy, keep up, and clean) are going to, "boost the morale of the troops", then there is a SERIOUS morale problem. It is absolutely a waste of time, and money. Especially considering that some enterprising young commander is going to make black socks MANDATORY for EVERYONE, so that all are in uniform. If you don't think it will happen then you've never been in the Infantry.

Great we have now covered the most important issue to date in my humble opinion (#Humor)

No "no shows" however! LOL

No big deal. Hopefully they clarify this a little better when the next AR 670-1 comes out. I am in favor of the Army picking a color and staying with it.
