What does everyone think about the new Regimental Affiliation methods?

I was none to happy to see my Regimental Affiliation removed from my ERB. Specifically because I deployed with that regiment twice!

LTC Jason Mackay Do you know if the current reg allows affiliation with a Regiment with no active component entity on current active service? A plain reading of what you copied from DA Pam 670-1 would tend to imply yes. (I can't get to misuite right now to see the other document mentioned by MSG (Join to see).)
In my case, I would prefer to affiliate with the 303rd Armor (WA ARNG), where I spent my LT time, but under the old reg, it was impossible as you could only affiliate with regiments that had at least one element in Active Component service.
Edit, additionally, DA Reg 670-1 says to see the Pam for authorization to wear a DUI, but the Pam just says "based on service record" which sounds suspiciously like "just put it on." However, that can't be right, can it?

COL Vincent Stoneking , I take it at face value. In this case I only recommend putting it on the ORB so no one can push Back on you for a DA photo or over zealous stolen valor.
"Soldier is serving or previously successfully served". 506th INF only still exists with the two remaining battalions split between two othe BDE's in the 101st. I served in 4th BCT which was the 506th and Currahee 6 was the Regimental Commander. The BCT was in activated.

LTC Jason Mackay - Thanks. I'll still check to make sure I'm squeaky clean, but I am hopeful with the new reg.

Follow-up - I did some looking on S1Net today. It really does say what it appears to say.
There is no need to "request." It will no longer be tracked (though it may still show?) on ERBs/ORBs.
RDI will be based on affiliation due to Branch/PMOS. DUI as Regimental crest will be based on ANY (Branch alignment not required) unit successfully served with which has its own DUI, based on personnel records.
In the case of qualifying service with multiple units, wear the one(s) you want, when you want - as long as you successfully served with that unit.
The only potential hiccup is for ARNG folks. It appears NGR 600-82 was NOT rescinded and is still in effect for that compo.

I imagine This all may seem ridiculous to Marines, as your service cultivates the central identity as Marine, first, foremost, and exclusively. The Army, significantly larger and ponderous, cultivates this identity at the Division Level and sometimes down to the regiment (brigade) level.

MSG (Join to see) did the field on the ERB get removed, or was your individual affiliation changed? I went to your profile just to see what your reg affiliation was on your profile picture...not cyber stalking you.

MSG (Join to see) I am not familiar with the ins and outs of the ERB, but is this ERB for a board and does that field get blanked out for a board? It doesn't on the ORB.

Sir, The ERB is much like your ORB. It just Identifies all certified training, awards and unit assignments. Much like the old DD 214, but in spread sheet form. I am pretty sure it does get blocked out. I don't think that the RDI is a deal breaker for a board. I prefer my choice of regimental affiliation basically to show where I came from. Much like you mentioned above. Air Assault!

MSG (Join to see) - I think the only flag would be if you did not have one in your photo.
