What does it mean that my SRB is approved but at NGB level?

I got in contact with my AGR representative at my NG unit and was informed, that after the huge delay that happened back in Oct, my bonus was approved about a month and half ago and is at NGB level. My question is at this level is there anything I should be doing to remain proactive and about how long does this take to deposit at this level? I've reenlisted back in August of last year and its almost been a year...

I am not sure what the "NGB" level is, but someone seriously failed you. Good on you for keeping up with your issues. No one will look after your career better than you can, keep that in mind. Every month when a new LES drops and your SRB doesn't reflect on it, take it to your first line. Give him 2-3 pay periods (I know that's 2-3 months but you've already waited this long right?) to sort it out and then utilize the open door policy as far as you need to go. Last stop, congressman.

Your unit rep works through your state Joint Forces Head Quarters (JFHQ). National Guard Bureau (NGB) is the higher level. There is nothing you can do besides checking with your unit rep every couple pay periods. Then as been stated take it up your chain of command.

I dont know what NGB level is either. On your reenlistment contract there should be a bonus control number.. if there is, in fact, a control number you can e mail or call DFAS directly. Check the DFAS website for your specific branch.
If there is no bonus control number, you got screwed.

NGB review is the last level and the level that approves the payout. So it sounds like it finally was approved at the state and has been pushed up. Nothing to do but wait. There are four different pay times you could get paid in a month so it’s a matter of waiting for the process. I would contact the AGR admin once a month until you get paid- anything sooner and they might just give you lip service. If it doesn’t happen in three months you need to let the commander know there is a problem. Good luck.
