A scroll is the authorization from Congress to be an officer in the military.

Basically anyone selected for officer must be approved by Congress and their branch of service due to change in laws several years ago
It takes a few months sometimes to get your scroll approved. Once that happens then you can swear in and do a commissioning ceremony. Then it’s a month to few months for orders.

1LT (Join to see) nope I still have to take the OPAT within 30 days of commissioning.

To clarify on how long scrolls can take, it is a true exercise of patience. I was informed of my selection for a direct commission board in late November, and waited for a commissioning memo until the end of June, of course immediately commissioned the second day of July.

If you can pass the APFT for your age group then passing it for 70B for OPAT should be pretty easy for you. SFC (Join to see)
