I was followed by homeless man Steve, he lives on the 59th street corner entrance. I bought him lunch and we talked about life. Best time I've ever had. Central park is pretty great, if you ignore the drugs and fornicators, and potential rapists. I love it here.

There are a lot of BUMS, asking for food, money, cigarettes, as well as a lot of liberal ID ten tangos, a really big number of them!

One of the best parts of Manhattan. I haven't gotten to spend too much time there, but the little time I did was great. The business side of me always gets me thinking what this part would be worth if it was sold? It seems virtually priceless.

What has been your experience with New York City's wonderful Central Park?

A great lunch or pinic spot in the Summertime. Yes, there are vagrants (over 55k in NYC's homeless services) and yes, i wouldnt venture around at night... unarmed at least! But its TONS better than it was back in the day, you just have to have basic awareness. Nighttime is the most you'd have to worry, and it becomes a police state at night with floodlights and foot/vehicle patrols. Remember, you're in a city with 8.4 million people, 55k cops and are traversing a park 2.5 Sq miles from 59th to 110th streets.... cops cant be everywhere - keep your head on a swivel!

CP is INCREDIBLE! Besides it being my "playground" for my marathon training and NYRR races with Team Red, White and Blue, it is a melting pot of diversity. Never a dull moment...

NYC and its many attractions, including Central Park, were a short train ride from where I grew up, Baltimore. We could hop a late afternoon train, enjoy dinner and a show, and be back the next morning ready to go (having slept on the train home). A friend took his girlfriend there one evening, and proposed to her on a handsome cab ride around the park before hopping the train home. NYC is great just so long as you don't have to live there. Of course, Baltimore is no great place to live either these days...

It would be nice if it were somewhere else. NYC sucks.

It is a very interesting place with historic aspects. Does not hurt that many of my ancestors have visited or lived near it
