1. Are the MOS-Ts mixed in with IET soldiers for training?

2. Is it a PCS move there or just TDY?

3. What was the process of how you got assigned to your platform?

4. Is there a possibility to volunteer for additional training there as an MOS-T after graduation?

5. What are the living situations like for MOS-Ts?

Thanks!

When you reenlist you should be able to chose your duty assignment. If not once you start school send a email to the branch manager and see what he can get you. A lot of where you go will be decided on what platform you want. If you go the gray eagle route you are most likely going to the next unit that is stood up. There are several SF Groups that are shadow only but you need to go to airborne school and want to just to get thous and assignment to a group is dependent on which group needs you. If you want to go that route the easiest thing to do is reenlist for 15E shadow then contact the USASOC recruiter at your installation and they will put you in contact with the UAS recruiter and he will look at your records and see if you would be able to see if you qualify.

SFC Adolph,

Thank you for all the good info. You answered a lot of my follow up questions as well. My objective is to get as much training and hands on experience as possible if and when I reclass to 15E. I know from seeing it a lot with my friends in other MOS's that ARSOF assignments offer a lot of opportunities for career progression and experience. So that's one reason why I'm looking to go that route. One other thing I was wondering is does one platform offer more career opportunities after the Army than the other or is it pretty unilateral as far as the "job market" goes? I currently plan on staying until retirement if I get into this career field so I want to maximize all my opportunities to make myself more marketable.

They both have opportunities about the same. The thing that is going to help you get a great IAS job when you get out is your experience level if you can make yourself a well rounded UAS maintainer not just a wrench turner it will be a lot easier to get a good job. UAS job in the civilian sector are abundant its more about the quality of the company that you want to work for. I hope that helps
