What is daily life like at Camp Buehring, Kuwait while assigned there for deployments? I’m considering volunteering for a 90 day deployment and want to know what life is like on post. Any insights, comments or guidance are invited and welcomed.

It's hot, but not too humid at least. Fairly bare with not much to see, but it's a simple life. If I wasn't married with new children I would have voluntarily stayed longer.
For 90 days, there would be no question for me.

I liked how easy and simple life was. The biggest issue I had with it was the ability to run there. They limit the areas in which you can run, and the times. Expected for overseas I am sure, but it did make it difficult.
I at least did the weekly 5k while over there as well.
What would you assignment be?

CPT Zachary Brooks - Running outside was tough - it was generally hot and dusty morning and night, and at night, the diesel from the generators was noticeable. I did almost all my running on the treadmill. They had a "track" (it was a path of rocks in the shape of a track), but I think they are actually building a nice track like they had in Arifjan.

I wasn't at Camp Buehring but I was at Camp Arifjan back in 2004. Anyway, from March to April and October to November Kuwait is HOT. From May through September it is EXTREMELY HOT - over 120 degrees in July and August. (Some will tell you it gets up to 150 but that's not be scientifically verified.)
Safety - very good. No insurgent attacks and the locals are friendly.
Recreation - the usual in the field MWR stuff. On your days off you can into Kuwait City and see the shopping malls. (Air conditioned of course!)
90 days is nothing for a deployment and you can do it standing on your head. You will also get a Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal and imminent danger pay out of it.
Not bad - do it!
