Position coding when specific branch skills are not required. 01A is branch immaterial, 02A is Combat Arms immaterial, 02B is Infantry/Armor Immaterial, etc.

This is for branch immaterial positions. This is common in TDA and TASS units were a specified branch isn't a requirement.

What is MOS/AOC 01A? Does this just refer to a branch-qualified officer in any field?

To clarify a bit, I have seen several job openings asking for an 01A. I see online that an 01A "performs staff duties", but does one go to BOLC or CCC for this? What branch does 01A fall under? Is an 11A considered qualified to perform staff duties or would this require additional training/reclassing.

11A would be qualified for 01A positions with no problems. You would have to complete BOLC/IOBC to be an MOS qualified 11A.
