I love working in the Defense Attaché Office in the US Embassy. However, the average Soldier will never get this opportunity. So, I must go with Ft. Carson, CO. I have told my Soldiers "There are two kinds of Soldiers at Ft. Carson. Those that are there for the first time and think there is something better and those that are there for a second time and know there is nothing better." Ft. Carson IS the best assignment in the Army. Although I have heard that Ft. Lewis (JBLM) is right up there.

It's funny you say that. I have a MAJ a work with and he thinks that Fort Carson is a great assignment as well. I saw pictures of it and it kind of reminds me of Fort Huachuca, AZ a little.

I spent 5 1/2 yrs at Fort Carson and loved it out there. Only reason I left was due to the fact that I could not move up anymore where I was. If I could go back I would. There is a ton of things to do off post, not to mention what you can do on post.

That is Hard! If it weren't for NSGD Sugar Grove, WV there wouldn't be a Mrs Nagel and no Beautfiful Children and even more Gorgeous Grandchildren. 1 year on a Tropical Paradise called Diego Garcia, 2 years on a Tropical Paradise called Oahu. 3 Years in London becoming more Knowledgeable about everything, 3 years in DC Learning about Diplomacy and Politics even in the Military.

Ft Lewis. Loved the environment, got into long distance cycling while I was there, and there was something for everyone within a short driving distance.
