The common argument between people in different branches, "my branch is the best" What do you think? I think it's ridiculous that people say and argue that their branch is better or the best. It's usually us a.k.a the young ones that do it but I just think it's ridiculous. No branch is better than another. A navy recruiter talked to me once. Im not a huge fan of the navy but i like what he said to me. "Why not navy?" When i told him I wasnt interested in the navy he said" that's okay, we're all part of the united states military and we all work together to reach our goals." To me he represented the navy well and the military well by saying that. So what do you think? Discuss.

Seriously though ... ask any soldier, sailor, airman, or Marine which branch is the best and you can pretty much guess the answer. That's okay. We all give each other a lot of crap. And that's okay too. But I promise you, when that crap hits the fan and we go into action, we're ALL in it together and looking out for one another. Semper fi ...

Agreed! And we have to give each other crap amongst the branches. Keeps us motivated:) I have friends in all branches and I talk crap to all of em. They do the same. Absolutely right though, I would do anything for any one of them! Wouldn't have it any other way!!

A little background: 6 years of my career was spent working joint-service signals intelligence collection, analysis and formulation of theater operations and contingency plans. I have a fairly broad understanding of the synergy of all services working together.
I wouldn't say any one service is better than the other. What I would say is that there are definite differences in the lives and lifestyle you lead depending on the service you choose.
All in all though, this type of arguing is pointless. Each service performs a multitude of incredibly important functions. We could not be the dominant military planet on earth without the efforts of each branch.
And a final answer to your question... AIR FORCE!! No one comes close!

Well one day, in the future, when we are all flying around in spacecraft bringing Freedom to outlying worlds, I think the Navy and Marines have it pretty much cornered. The Army will turn into a glorified police force for the United World Federation, or whatever it will be called. I mean let's look at the big picture here. You can't go around calling it Space Army. That's just silly. Now Space Marines, that has a nice ring to it. Just saying.

I like all the branches of the Armed Forces all are powerful and have their assigned task and purpose. I devoted over 25 years to the Army (shoot move and communicate). Duty Honor Country. Retired but still serving!

Which one is best? That depends, what do you need done?
Control the seas? The US Navy is the best at that.
Control the ground? The US Army is best at that.
Take over an area and clear out the enemy? The US Marines are the best at that.
Set up AFN and X-Box tournaments? AIR FORCE baby!

Even though we all say that "my branch is the best" the fact is that each individual branch is best at what they do. To me there is no one branch that is the best over the others. Now with that said, we all know the Navy is the best branch, ask Army (0-13) against Navy! LOL!

You are right while each of us thinks that our branch of service is the best ( nothing wrong with pride in what you do) the vast majority respect other services more than anyone can imagine. While there is plenty of poking and jibing at other branches to include myself each member knows that each branches contributions to the overall mission completion are jnvaluable. So my saying to those who get ruffled by the joking and such is calm down and think about what happens when we go to war there isn't the huge gap that there is during peace time situations and we blend as the team we are meant to be.
