What is the best OER/NCOER/award bullet that you have seen?

My favorite NCOER was: Soldier could not lead a pack of ants to a picnic.

My favorite award bullet was: Soldier single-handed won the hearts and minds of the Afghan people.

With Soldiers like these maybe we need to go back to an Army of One!

~ Just shy of being able to walk on water.

~ Incapable of working unsupervised.

There is a GREAT book out there - "LIAR" The Lexicon of Intentionally Ambiguous Recommendations - http://www.amazon.com/Lexicon-Intentionally-Ambiguous-Recommendations-L-I-A-R/dp/ [login to see] /
This will help give those who need it the proper recommendations.

"The sterling example of the American paratrooper."
NCO said "I won't sign it unless it has that bullet!"

I hope that dirt dart was around the 100 mark... just saying there is a lot of expectations with that. Personally, I wouldn't want that one...

One of my favorites: Amn consistently strives to be mediocre and occasionally meets that level; do not retain.

In my opinion, writing "Soldier could not lead a pack of ants to a picnic" on an evaluation is poor leadership.

Additionally, if the senior rater and review allow this type of evaluation, that is a poor excuse for a rating chain.

I do not think it went through the final version of the NCOER, but it did make me laugh. The Soldier had come up hot on an urine analysis and informed. After he was informed he did not show up for two years before it was given his OTH discharge orders. I can understand the frustration of having to write an NCOER on someone who literally did not show up all year.

I have been there Sir. I could not justify giving the rated Soldier more than a needs improvement in every single block. The difficult part is thinking of that many separate needs improvement bullets to complete the NCOER.
