I have already started my 153A Warrant Officer packet. However, I have no warrant officers in my unit due to it being a medical unit and I was wondering what the best way to get in contact with a CW3 or above, or any warrant officer in the aviation field. I would like to pick the brain of someone in the field and hopefully get some questioned answered that my medical team can't answer for me.

Find out where there is a formation, wait 45 minutes after that formation is over and you will find a warrant. Just kidding.

I am stationed on Fort Gordon, GA. The nearest unit would be Fort Stewart around 2 hours away. There is potential for me to get there so long as my COC doesn't require me to do anything on my days off (I am a shift worker at a hospital)

SPC (Join to see) - call that unit and request the POC for the senior Aviation Warrant. call them (don't email) and tell them you are trying to do a Warrant package and you don't have a local Aviation Chief Warrant Officer/Any Warrant Officers and would like to set up an office call to meet one. They will either do it, or ask one of the other CWOs to do it. You can have a fixed appointment and get down there to do it. Worst case, isn't it worth a day of leave to get this done?
Another option is to see if there is a local reserve component Aviation unit and schedule an office call during a drill weekend.
PS Hunter Army Airfield may be where you need to go.

LTC Jason Mackay I didn't even think about giving that unit a call, sir. Thank you so much!

You have two options, the first one is already taken care of, you already took the initiative to post on here, where there are a lot of current and past CWO from the aviation side that will be more then willing to assist you. Second, locate the closest army aviation unit to you and do the footwork, everyone is approachable as long as you maintain professinalism, customs and courtesy’s. Good luck!

SPC (Join to see) I see you are stationed at Ft Gordon. The nearest Army Airfield to you is Hunter AAF in Savannah. I would take a trip to Hunter and go to flightline. Ask around, look for the flight companies and there you shall find a CW3 or higher. Introduce yourself and go from there. Prior to making this trip I would ensure my packet is as complete as possible (Meaning board ready) if not you may get turned away. Let me know if I can help in any other way.

I’ll check with some people out at Savannah, let me know how far you are with completing your packet. A person doing LORs is going to want to see a near complete packet before conducting an interview.

Start with the Sift and then the physical. I’m assuming your GT score is already high enough. Once you’re mentally and physically qualified, complete the rest of the things on the WOFT recruiting site. I took that list and stapled it to a find and worked towards completing it day by day. It’s seems simple by complete it without as much error as possible. If possible reach out to other who’ve completed this process recently. They probably have a better idea of what’s required compared to when I submitted my paperwork. SPC (Join to see)
