Always trying to plan for the future since, as we all know, you can't be a Marine forever. So what companies seem to look for prior recruiters when it comes to sales at the corporate level?

A great resumé on Linkedin highlighting your skills. I had a civ recruiter contact me and hired me because of y recruiting skills. That is if you are going to focus on sales.

I used all the tools taught in TAP (formerly called ACAP) with a good mixture of social media. I have found that by applying this foundation to my transition and tailoring it to meet my needs, I hope to successful.

Now, I haven't found a job yet but my situation is a bit more specific.

For those searching still or upcoming, I have two organizations (and I'm sure there are more) that are incredibly helpful.

Bradley-Morris and Lucas Group are both firms that provide a really good amount of help finding employment (and even fine tuning your personal approach to seeking employment).

I know it's sounds cliche but the military does a good job of providing the initial foundation for transition.

With the use of LinkedIn, Twitter and some very helpful resources by other members on here (like the gentlemen who has a website on how to fill out your USAJobs resume), there is a lot of information out there.

As with anything in life, you will get out of it what you put into it.

The hardest part is getting people to know you even exist. Finding groups of other veterans, recruiting groups, etc. is something you need to do now. The more involved you are in those groups helping others and giving feedback will help you with your future.

Networking is the name of the game in the civilian sector. You are on the right track already as you are asking the questions now.
