Not all movies hire a military advisor so the costume designers have to do the research on their own. They usually end up going for something that looks cool to them regardless if it's right or not.

I can forgive the Expendables, they were not an actual military but mercenaries, and they were honoring the manly kill 'em all movies of the 80's

I do agree with authenticity, but sometimes it is hard to get vehicles and aircraft 100% accurate. Blacksheep Squadron didn't use Japanese Zeros but instead modified trainers.

PO3 Donald Murphy - That must have been a long time ago. I believe now they have to be attorneys with a real law degree and have passed the bar in any of the 50 states or US territories.
Even on the show, Rabb has his law degree and is an attorney.

PO3 Donald Murphy - I attended the Navy's Non Lawyer Naval Justice School. We were line officers who would have that duty as a collateral duty. There were also JAG Corps officers who were lawyers and that would be their full time jobs.
On ships, we did wills and powers of attorney. During administrative hearings, the accused had a JAG lawyer and we were the prosecutors.
