The movie overboard, first Kurt Russell jumps in the water and the seaman yells man overboard(proper term) the Goldie Hawn jumps in the water now he yells woman overboard. We would never say that guess meant to be funny but I did not laugh.

To me, the MOST obvious and disrespectful is the "HAND SALUTE". The movie Directors and Producers take a lot of "Liberties" in movies taking advantage of the movie goers ignorance of Military Courtesy. Of course there are others but only a Veteran would be able to spot them.

I usually get rankled over unrealistic and technical flaws for the sake of poetic license. The scene in "Top Gun" when Maverick and Goose are cockpit to cockpit with the fictional MiG-28 reigns supreme. F-14's allow a classic merg with aggressive belligerent and more maneuverable fighter aircraft to take place. They get into a rolling scissors with an adversarial aircraft and find time to get too close and take a picture.

How old all the people in the miltary are shown as, Who knew that the average private was in his thirties. The onldest man in the coast guard boat in the "Finest Hours " rescue was 23 and he was the OLD guy, in the movie no one looked under thirty. In "A Bridge to far " Gen. Gavin was played by a man 20 years older than he was and The same applies to his portrayal the "Longest. Day' A sixtyish John Wayne portraying an officer in his thirtieths in that movie was hilarious also.

Fireball grenades.
Unending ammo.
Racking a weapon that's already chambered and no shell or round ejects.
Kinetic energy and shrapnel on explosives is non-existent.
When grenades tick or don't go off after 5 seconds.

Oh and unexplained military awards in certain instances. For example the TV show Gotham.
Trying to not do spoilers -
There's a marksman with the CAB on his civilian jacket, for some reason he's just wearing the CAB. Didn't explain once in the episode why he has it. Was it a secret wink to Veterans? ooh look he has a CAB this guy must be "hardcore". I mentioned this to the guys I was watching it with and they of course were Civilian and didn't know what a CAB was. So it doesn't work for anybody really.

When we would go out on convoy's I always checked to make sure every one had a round in the chamber and the safety on. If needed all we had to do was hit the safety and pull the trigger. Don't waste time putting a round in the chamber when you needed it right now.

There are way too many to list, but then there's the Harrier scene in "True Lies". Arnold would go deaf in 2 seconds with the canopy intact.

When someone says, "over and out", it's one or the other. The term, "Congressional Medal of Honor", congress doesn't have anything to do with the award.
