The way they wear their uniforms where they add medals from other services. That bothers me that these TV shows don't check with their military advisors to see if the uniforms are worn correctly and have the right awards on them.

Love Stripes as a comedy but how come at the beginning only two or three got their hair cut and the rest still had big ole mops of hair?

How hard can it be to ask somebody's cousin who was in any branch of the military to check the uniforms they wear in movies? Surely, if they're gonna spend a even only $1 million on a movie, they could find somebody to check uniforms... There was one the other day that had a four-star general wearing an enlisted man's dress blues. We have all seen them: Navy Officers wearing Army Rank; Air Force generals wearing ribbons from WWII and Korea. My wife simply hates my critiques.

I hate that as well, but unfortunately the production companies don't always listen. Sometime they think it 'looks' better... so annoying though!

The first Rambo movie "First Blood" from start to finish. Worst parts in the beginning he knows right where to find his knife and the last part where he shoots up the town with an M60 firing it with one hand.

Back when I went to PLDC (as it was called back then), we were on our field exercise, and the op-for hit us in some tall weeds, could not see a thing, our 60 gunner stood up and started firing Rambo style, the instructor killed him off with the god gun. Told him if that was live ammo he most likely would have lost control and killed all of us in real life.

Seeing American soldiers in a negative light in the post Vietnam era movies was a big turnoff for me. But seeing John Wayne in the Green Berets and finding out Vietnam looks a lot like South Georgia where I grew up was an eye opener too!

Chrimson Tide, where daniel washington is the xo of a sub and tries to take over command when he decides that the order to fire a missile is wrong

Put back on active duty and the captain forced to retire

Real life would have courtmartialed, found guilty and sent to Portsmlouth or mare island for the rest of their life

Uniform deficiencies!!! It's a huge pet peeve of mine. If you're gonna portray a member or the armed services at least do it right and according to regulations.

I know I hate that as well. It is just laziness on the costume department.

On the same subject but different. Is there a book or movie that was realistic to you? I read The Great Santani a couple of years ago and then saw the movie. Reading the book was like re-living my childhood. The movie was good but not as realistic. They could not show the beatings like the book described.

Addressing SM as different rank than what he/she is wearing. Dabney Coleman in Cloak & Dagger wearing old school MSgt stripes but calling himself a SSgt. Uniform is all out regs!!! Has officers rank with enlist collar bass, ribbons out of order, and wearing uniform that isn't in the service branch you are acting in. I know they have military advisers, so why do they keep getting it wrong?
