What is the DOD policy on face masks? And who's to issue them to the retirees so they can go on the commissary?

Nobody is going to issue retirees masks lol. You will either need to buy or make your own or you will not be allowed in the commissary. They aren't issuing them to Active so why issue to retirees....

Make your own mask. No one is going to give you or a retiree one. No mask, no entrance.

You have to get your own. They just initiated this here on post yesterday. They (post) included face "coverings" in our document realizing masks are hard to come by. Bandanas or "drive on rags" were on the list of approved coverings. The disclaimer was that they had to be in good taste. The dollar store has them for .99 cents.

You don't need a face mask to go to the commissary. I just went today without one. I would recommend wearing one, but I'm sure the DOD doesn't really care about retirees enough to issue face masks so that they can shop somewhere more convenient for them

DoD policy is that all personnel on a military installation will wear a mask when 6 feet distance can't be met. This excludes individuals in their houses on military installations. As for retirees, I haven't seen anything specific as to who will issue retirees their masks. There is nothing saying you can't buy or make your own.
