My mom, who worked as an Executive Secretary for the Air Force told me this true story. There was an Airman Basic named General Jones who called Flight Ops at Randolph AFB, said "This is General Jones" and asked if they had any planes scheduled to go to McCord AFB. Since they thought it was a "General" calling, they created a flight. The next day, this slick sleeve airman shows up. They were all shocked, but since the plane was scheduled, the pilots briefed, and the flight plan filed, they took him anyway.

Went to Navy OCS with an Officer Candidate Ensign who would have become Ensign Ensign upon our commissioning. LT Ensign would have made some interesting conversions later on!

I hooked up with a female when I was in,Korea and inflated my persona and said I was a higher rank then I really was at the time. I thought her lasy name eas Major in my drunkin stupor because everynody kept saying SgtMajor. Then when I was manning a check point during an exercise her vehical pulled up and I saw that she really was a Sergeant Major. I hid and made my buddy deal with her vehical
