In 1CD Divarty we had a SGT/E-5 Major in our Commo Shop. It was funny every time he ever used the phone he would say, "this is SGT Major and I would like X,Y, or Z" he would almost always be told yes. A few times they would ask "SGM Who?" Then the long name explanation would begin.

I worked with a Lcpl Pogue in Cherry Point. Apparently he wanted to join the infantry but his recruiter convinced him it wouldn't be a good idea.

A pilot in my squadron was LCDR Kirk; can't wait 'til he makes Captain! Also, I had a detailer named Dickover; no kidding.

So these two soldiers knew they would be made fun of so they were battle buddies the entire deployment; SGT Manlove and SGT Growcock

Not sure if it was "appropriate" but I knew a Lt. Pitstick.
Very unfortunate.
