In trying to make a living , sometimes we have to be creative and do some odd jobs from time to time. What is the oddest of odd jobs that you ever had? Was it worth the money ?

I was a bellman at The Brown Hotel on Kentucky Derby weekend and got to carry luggage from celebrities rooms to their limos , including: John Lovitz (a true slob). John Goodnan (same in real life as on screen), Dixie Carter (much better looking with makeup), and William Shatner (ego). As a Star Trek fan , I nearly crapped my pants for a second when I got to his room. But when he opened the mouth and the ego came out, i held my butt cheeks together and stayed professional and did my job.

1st job post ETS was being a door guard in a topless bar in San Jose, Ca.
Learned two important facts ...
1) Anything you buy by the keg and sell by the glass will make you money, and
2) Boobies can cause the price of beer to go up

I used to get paid for driving a camouflage Winnebago while being chased by an wAH-64.

I got out of the AF right before 9/11 and had an extreme amount of guilt that I was not there with my buddies, so I took any job I could get to support the "War Effort". I was the Quality control engineer building SAPI plates (I QC'd over 5,000 of them) after that contract was over I took a job for a company that was building some targeting devices for the AH-64. When field testing began we were on an abandoned WWII training strip in Arizona. we started testing with Class A motorhome (painted woodland camo) @ 5 MPH and testing ended on a dirt bike @ 50+ Mph.

I had a job with a partner at Ridgecrest Baptist Assembly in the summer of. 1988, wearing overalls jump suit and a cheap mask and goggles, while climbing. 30 foot ladder to spray straight green muritic acid onto windows to remove 15 years of lime. After I began to get sick as the wind blew that crap back into my face for two weeks they finally listened to me and ceased that job, sticking me on the toilet cleaning crew. 6 bathrooms in 8 hours , 40 hours a week . Easy money
