For many of us, this will probably be dominated by the .45 Cal. Model 1911 Pistol (in service since 1911) and the .50 Cal. M2 Machinegun (Manufactured since 1921). For me, it was the above 2 weapons, plus the Smith & Wesson Model 1905 .38 Special Revolver. Please make this weapons that you actually used, carried, or operated as a service member. (The Navy guys will probably win. They never throw anything away.)

I'm not sure which was older. A few 1911's, or the M-2's. I know one was stamped from the 30's.
I fired a WW2 era 4.2 in mortar, that was handed down to the Japanese Defense Forces.
One thing is for sure. I have fired 4.2 in mortar rounds dated in the 30's and 40's. My 4.2 in mortar was stamped with 1956.

Well, the design of the M-2 goes back to 1921, but it didn't go into production until 1933, so the old M-1911 is the older design.

I was issued a 1911 in 1990. Then they took that away and gave a grease gun. That was in Germany

I qualified with the .38 revolver, never saw it again, also fired (not qualified) from a landing craft LCU 2000 class, open water firing was cool

M1911 of course...and I had a .50cal in my TOW platoon that had 1944 stamped on the receiver. I had the opportunity to fire some older weapons (BREN, STEN, FAL Etc) but as far as issued weapons, the.45 and Ma Deuce are the oldest.

SFC Terry Murphy - You're correct, but it kind-of means the same thing. I also was issued an M16E(experimental)1.

When I was in ITR after boot camp in early 65 we were issued M 1's and BAR's. Also went through the low crawl under wire with live overhead fire from the old .30 cal MG's

When I disassembled a BAR and looked inside, I was amazed at the machining and craftsmanship of the receiver.
