I know I can enlist with a 37F contract, is there anything special I have to do before then? For example, in a lot of other SOF (SEALs, Air Force SW etc.) They have to take a SW PT test before officially getting their contract, does the same apply to me? Or does most of the SOF testing come once I ship out?

Just the standard PT test before shipping out. Once you complete MP OSUT you will attend POAS. Day 2 of POAS you will take a PT test and must achieve a 240. If you fail, you are dropped from the pipeline and sent to needs of the Army. If you pass, you continue POAS > BAS > SERE > QUALIFICATION. Order may vary, my knowledge is dated.

I’m 24 and I’m interested in the MOS 37F. I would be freshly enlisted so prior service or college degree (I do have 34 community college credits). I was doing some research and was wondering how enlisting as this job would go? From my knowledge it looks like I’d be initially going as an MP, then the process would begin after that if I qualify? That’s the part I’m confused on. Or would I have to fill out a packet or talk to someone to actually...

So, if I am correct if you enlist for the 37F contract you will be actually considered a 37X for abit. Something new that came out awhile back which is for individuals transitioning into the military from civilian life. Granted I am not to knowledgeable on the transition from civilian to military via the 37X program. But I would assume that you would need to pass a ACFT/APFT. Then verify your line scores which are derived from your ASVAB. It used to be a 107/110 GT score needed in order to obtain the 37F slot but I believe they lowered it to 105 though I could be mistaken. But for the most up to date information you need to speak with a recruiter. They will have all the answers.
