I try to maintain the respect... but it is more out of playful respect than because I have to. And if I am told not to, I try to do as they wish... But I was raised to say yes sir/ma'am no sir/ma'am, please and thank...

Me too. My minimum age requirement for the"Yes ma'am/sir" response is about 8-9 years old. To teach respect, you have to give respect.
With "please and thank you," day one is almost a day too late.

Unless you're going to activate me, "Bob" is just fine. I feel close to certain members, and given enough time, will grow closer to more. You've earned that respect and honor, and I do NOT want to be "that guy" who takes it from you.
