This is a free for all post as you see fit and if you disagree then say so.

We have all seen them. Some other things to consider. What do other branches think? I never belonged to a unit that wore them in a combat zone; the units that did wear them in combat seemed to also suffer from poor leadership, morale, and compentance (not individual but as a team).
Where would we be without these reflective belt over our camo?

Survey is who worn them in a comabt zone?

In Mosul, rockets and mortars rained down on us daily. They loved targeting the scout helicopters and several took lateral frag damage. The decision was finally made.........

CPT Michael Barden and LTC Stephen C. , this CSM would NEVER go for that! I got in a heated discussion with the 1st CAV CSM in Afghanistan and refused to make anyone on my FOB wear one. He threatened action but didn't follow through.

SFC Mark Merino, ironically, not only did I survive without a reflective PT belt, but so did hundreds of thousands of other soldiers before me!

What is the significance of a reflective PT Belt? Is it a sign of risk aversion? Who really wore these in a combat zone?

Reflective belts are clearly a fashion statement. I mean come on! What else would we use to accent our silkies, if not for this time-tested classic piece. Every military personnel should have at least 3. Wear it with PT gear! Use it as a sash over your civies! You will attract the opposite sex from every corner within neon-yellow reflective distance. I say, keep the PT belt. It's been keeping our troops looking suave since Richard Simmons

The USAF PT uniform is reflective enough to blind one from the glare yet we were still required to wear a reflective belt at night walking around camp. Luckily no pedestrian ran into me on my way to the DFAC due to my uber reflectivity.

The Army PT uniform did incorporate them into the last generation. They even made a newer version of the gray PT jacket that has a reflective digital pattern. Yet, we still had to wear PT belts across the shoulder.

Ma'am the only comment on this I see is,
"Is that DKNY or PRADA?"
"But it clashes with your boots!"

Just being a guy but I think like that if you turned around the belt would bring attention to your back side where I could say I'm looking at the belt and inspecting it but in reality I'm looking at something better then the belt

If it was not for my glow belt I would be dead, it stopped the 60mm in the air and made it turn around thus killing the crew.

I used mine as a sling to fling large stones at buildings, scale telephone poles, replace tank treads in garrison if I only had it in combat.
