Many of us have one thing that really gets to us. I have to say that probably my biggest pet peeve (as it pertains to the military) are ill fitted ACU tops. I constantly find myself explaining to people how their uniform should fit.

Definitely laces hanging out of their boots and waffle top showing. I like to wear my beret ever so slightly cocked but I've seen airborne with it mounted to the side of their skull and it looks ridiculous

I am in an aviation unit with a lot of Pilots and officers and its not the proper wear of it that gets me its the total disregard for an on the spot correction of an officer. They will look at you like you are crazy for saying that you arent supposed to have your hands in your pockets or the proper way to blouse the A2CU trousers. They get overly defensive like you were way out of line for stating the regualation.

I tell you that the one that bothers me the most is when Soldiers wear the soft cap like a baseball; tucked in all the way down to their ears. Or when they do all the weird crap to it to make it look cool. It is a uniform for a reason, making look the way they want instead of following the rules tells me that a Soldier lacks discipline, respect for his/her leaders and the organization.

Ugh! I remembered when we all transition over to the black beret and I don't know how many people i saw who couldn't wear it correctly.

That is one I see often as well as driving with a cell phone. The pet peeve is that Soldiers (of all ranks) decide not to follow AR 670-1 (or other regs, standards) when they are away from their unit.
Then Headgear is my #2 (ACU Foilage cap in lieu of the Patrol cap, when it's 45 degrees, and no installation/policy letter authorizing it, and incorrect wear (Beret especially).

What I truly hate the most in violations of AR 670-1 is cocky senior NCOs and Officers that walk around with their hands in their pocket. Here on Wainwright, I've mentioned to many officers they are setting a bad example and that its a violation as well as NCOs that do it. Sometimes they respect the correction as I always use tact. Other times they'll just look at at me and say, "I do what my rank can handle".....Really?

Irish penants and boot blousing....if you blouse your trousers and they still hang to your ankles you look like a sloppy pig (IMO)...I believe the reg states nothing past the 2-3 eyelet of your boots...and please take the time to pull or burn off the loose threads in your uniforms

One of my biggest pet peeves of late is people starching/pressing the ACUs.

Pressing is permitted but starching is not. On occassion and will run an iron over a set if it does not look up to standard. The worst part seems to be the corner of the pockets on the pants and the zipper/fly area on the top which usually makes the collar look horrible.
I did see someone try to starch and iron-in the creases like on the BDU's. It looked horrible.

I don't really have a pet-peeve, if it's not IAW with 670-1 then it's wrong. I believe that if you're going to wear the uniform then do it right.
