It's something that I've been thinking about and have my own idea about, but just to see it from different, more experienced eyes, what is your take on it?

Not only is there no perfect soldier, there was only one perfect person, and he was crucified.

Capt (Join to see) - It's not physically obtaining it, but as you said, it is the endless pursuit of it. I think that's why a Christian who is a soldier has a deeper understanding of "staying the course." God bless you Captain, for pointing out something which I neglected to.

Capt (Join to see) - It is beyond us all, the only thing we can do is strive every day to be better than the day before.

There really is no perfect soldier. To paraphrase Admiral Halsey, there are only normal men that do extraordinary jobs when they have to. Always maintaining mission focus is about the closest that a soldier can come to achieving perfection. We're all human and therefore imperfect.

I took it that the question was referencing those of us mortals who possess a basic sin nature. Absolutely, Jesus is the perfect one... 100% God/100 % man. None other can make such a claim!!!

Perfect soldier in my eyes is one who does his or her best to live life by the Army Values and Worrier Ethos. A soldier that never gives up reguadless the number of times he or she fails, the soldiers hear is important. A soldier that remains professional at all times and not only does his or her job but also steps up and gives a helping hand to peers. The perfect soldier continues to increase his or her knowledge and progress in his or her career.

All you can ask is that the soldiers working with you give their best effort every day, and continue to improve their skills and leadership ability. The rest should take care of itself.
