This shot of our Minotaur IV on liftoff. 2+ years of design, testing, and mission planning for a few seconds of a thrill. It was well worth it!

Capt Brandon Charters - For the younger generation . . . I believe it is important to note the Minotaur IV and its progeny are current commercial launch vehicles . . . using the first three stages of an old PeaceKeeper ICBM to economically push a fourth stage carrying a two ton national security payload (e.g. 5000W communication satellite) into low earth orbit.

Nice background 1LT Sandy Annala! Indeed, we repurposed & launched a recycled ICBM into LEO ;)
Nothing like being on console for launch day.

My two favorites, circa 1966 in Germany. One in Hohenfels, the other in Kuhn's Gasthaus Munich, that's me in front in the black jacket.

So many to choose from, but as a young petty officer during a North Atlantic cruise we pulled into an anchorage along with many other NATO ships to allow a winter storm to pass by. Scapa Flow Scotland 1976

SFC Josh Billingsley -
I once heard that only difference between men and boys is the size of their toys ???
Are you really supposed to sit on high explosives with parts made by lowest bidder?
Somehow - this kind reminds me of Slim Pickens riding the bomb in Dr Strangelove.
Warmest Regards, Sandy

Our Captain would tell us during battlestations: "remember boys, our weapons were made by the lowest bidder..." Food for thought.
