I think they are good, however I don't think they go far enough. I know that this sounds trite and is a current meme, but as long as we have Americans and those who are Veterans who are homeless and not getting the medical treatment that they should, we shouldn't be bringing in these so-called "Refugees". Look at what has happened in Germany, the rest of Europe and in Sweden, Norway, etc. There is enough problems being caused by their general (#NOT ALL) unwillingness to abide by Western rules and lifestyles that they should remain in the Middle East where they belong.

Exactly. If we enforce the laws we currently have on the books, there is no need to expand them. Exactly like the 2nd Amendment laws.

Regardless of how you feel about this.. I implore all to at least look at these links to have a better understanding of the situation. A good SFC taught me a long time ago to make the best decision you can with the information you have and be open to adjust fire. IMO most of the things that folks are upset about will eventually go away when the administration adjust's fire and actually get all the facts correct. No the borders are not open and people are not "pouring in". I believe you work to develop your fox hole every day and a reassessment of current procedures is welcome. Now how the administration went about it is a completely different story.

Key facts about refugees to the U.S.
Following the signing of an executive order that suspends refugee admissions for 120 days, here are key facts about the refugees entering the United States.

The second link is the one to the process of vetting of refuges before this past weekends executive order. I was unable to find information to see what will be added to the current process to make it "extreme" if anyone knows please share.

Facts are like statistics. Figures don't lie, but liars figure. Twisting of facts and lies have driven this past election.

I'm fine with limiting and properly vetting immigrants and refugees, but this needed better planning. I understand the President is trying to make good on his promises but some things need more planning and time than the swish of a pen. Hopefully this will get sorted out with relative ease.

The issue appears to be with people who have been granted visas by the U.S. Government and then detained when they try to legally re-enter the country. If they are being denied entry, they should have been denied the credentials in the first place, or had them revoked prior to departure. It is up to the courts to figure this out.

A visa does not guarantee entry. It is a basically a ticket to the door. You still have to be admitted by inspection and meeting certain criteria.

SSG William Bowen - Yes, that is technically true and it happens. But my point is that the visas should not have been issued, or immediately revoked prior to arriving in the US if they are banned entry because of their nationality.

I completely agree with strict illegal immigration law enforcement. I married a woman overseas, paid thousands of dollars in fees, and submitted around a hundred pages of forms to petition her as an alien relative (spouse). We have been happily married ever since, and that was 17 years ago.
Illegals coming here without paying fees, without submitting forms and documents are exactly like someone cutting in front of the line at say a movies theater! Most veterans wouldn't tolerate that shit and would tell the line cutter a thing or two! So why is it all of a sudden ok to cut the line when it comes to immigration?
Hell I even had to fill out and submit a form on my wife called an I-864 (affidavit of support) where I had to prove my income was enough that support her and pledge to the U.S. government that she would not become dependent on welfare/food stamps!!! Yet Illegals come here and collect these and more bennies!!!

I'm disgusted, that's my opinion. The Immigration and Nationality Act starts with he phrase "To promote family unity", while Trump and crew are rewriting to "Make America White Again".

Short answer: Dumber than dirt! Nothing wrong with immigration restrictions, they've existed for years under all administrations. The problem with this one is the manner in which it was implemented and the fact that only certain countries with no record of terrorism within the US were singled out while other countries with records of terrorism within the US were not. Immigration laws to protect the US should be universal, not targeted against a religion from only certain countries.

WELCOME TO AMERICA
(“Hold on their Cupcake”)
Have we truly forgotten Pearl Harbor, 911, and the Terrorist attacks before and after 09 September 2011? Every one of these attacks has intervention from right here in America; there called spies.
Maybe, just maybe if our government would have held steadfast applying the Immigration laws that throughout the years may have changed to some degree are still the rule of law that our elected officials
so faithfully swore to uphold one might be able to say our elected officials kept their promise.
According to the Naturalization Act (officially An Act to Establish a Uniform Rule of Naturalization; ch. 54, 1 Stat. 566)
Alien Friends Act (officially An Act Concerning Aliens; ch. 58, 1 Stat. 570)
Authorized the president to deport any resident immigrant considered "dangerous to the peace and safety of the United States." It was activated June 25, 1798, with a two-year expiration date.
Alien Enemies Act (officially An Act Respecting Alien Enemies; ch. 66, 1 Stat. 577)
Authorized the president to apprehend and deport resident aliens if their home countries were at war with the United States of America. Enacted July 6, 1798, and providing no sunset provision, the act remains intact today as 50 U.S.C. § 21
Why are people all up in arms, President Trump has the legal authority to enact the rule of law one that was enacted 06 July 1798 !! We wanted change in this country, and we are working on it. The sick thing is the media, all of these groups that protest and the politicians that have been in office way beyond their ability to enforce the rule of law think they have no worries and everyone should be politically correct.
Political correctness has ruined our country. However, we now have a President that may be wealthy, but he did not get that way by following the leader. President Trump has made and lost money but his stick–to–it·ive·ness has afforded him the wealth and knowledge to become President of the United States. I wonder what would happen if our country was invaded, would these cupcakes cave-in to a foreign government or would they stand with those of us that would fight to the death??
I will close with that and let you decide the answer.

Until an Immigrant is fully vetted he or she should be in a controlled area and not allowed to enter the USA. In today's life with terrorism being an major part of watchfullness each and every immigrant must be vetted to the extent that we as a nation are confident they pose no terrorist threat. If we step on toes doing this so be it. I fully agree with the restricted immigration policies that have been put in place.
