Everyone lives by a code. Whats yours and where does it come from?

Never demand of others that which you'd be unwilling to do yourself.

Only give orders that you could honestly explain to your subordinates' families without feeling ashamed.

Since in being moral, one can neither be assured success or granted a reward, morality must be pursued for its own sake. Confuscious.

I use this Gen. Colin Powell quote on all of my e-mails..

"The day soldiers stop bringing you their problems is the day you have stopped leading them. They have either lost confidence that you can help them or concluded that you do not care. Either case is a failure of leadership."

In my mind, I hold all of my leadership (and myself) to this standard. I always hold out hope that they will choose to care about us junior enlisted...

SPC Heenan, Gen Powell's statement is so true. That's how I became a good NCO, by listening and helping with problems. Thanks for posting.

Poor planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on mine. Also Don't make any rash decision unless you are willing to live with the consequences.

Funny, because when a fellow soldier of mine said "Poor planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on mine" to a 2nd LT we all paid for it. Thanks for posting.

I had 2 of them....
1) pray for war, kill for peace

2) the mission of the field artillery is to kill as many godless communists bastardized along with their subhuman immoral court battalions..... And to reinstall cave dwelling as the only accepted form of life in the former communistic region

You go by these 2 models you will always win a war :-)

Today is the day!

I borrowed it from Mel Fisher, but it is how I wrapped up khaki call every morning.

There's no such thing as perfect or complete. There is only continuous improvement.

SPC Thundercloud, first off, and if I may say, you have a kick-ass name. Secondly, I am running for the local school board. I was asked by a teacher "what would you not change about the school?" I said " Everything needs change because nothing is perfect." but I never thought of continuos improvement. Thanks for sharing that and thanks for posting.
