What is your realistic dream small arms weapon?

If you could have any small arms weapon made, what would it be? Mine would be a Barrett 98B

While I like the black rifle, I'm an old school wood and steel man. My favorite all time small arms weapon is the one I earned the Washington state 1,000 open sight shooting title with. My Remington 700 BDL Custom Deluxe in .308 It was a tack driver in the 1970's and it's a tack driver today. While it may not have the rate of fire of modern weapons, I can hit and kill with that weapon consistently out to 1,000 yards, (well maybe not now). I'm 60 and my eyes are not what they use to be, but back in the 70's, 80's and 90's it took everything from coyotes to Colorado Elk.
My favorite pistol is the 1911 in .45 ACP. I've shot the .45 my entire life and I have 10-1911 45's. My Wilson has been replaced as my favorite by my new daily carry pistol the Kimber - Master Carry - Ultra.

I have a kimber pro carry II. It is a nail driver too. I like the idea of one shot to put someone down.

I love the 1911 too, I've been collecting Mags, and developing muscle memory for 20+ years, so it's pretty hard for me to think of anything else realistically, but there are some tempting advantages to some of the more modern .45 APC's when you start thinking about carrying.

Handgun: HK 45 USP ('cuz shooting twice is just silly)
SAR: Tavor 5.56 SAR ('cuz it beats the M4 in every test I've seen)
Full Auto: HK G36 ('cuz ... for reasons not specified)
Rifle: Desert Tactical Arms SRS .338 Lapua ('cuz it's the firearm of choice for a long shooter friend of mine in LLEA)

I am with ya on the HK USP PO2 Steven Erickson . I had one for years but sold it to get my wife a Springfield XDS .45. Luckily I still have a H&K Compact in the .45 flavor.

Nice "dream team"... I'd drop the HK G36 (just 'cause I don't believe in full auto), and add either the Saiga 12 or AA-12 shotgun to the team... ('cause you know, sometimes you have to do some bird hunting too).

Right before I PCSed from Fort Drum, the firearms counter at the PX got in a M-4 chambered in .450 and I fell in love. Had I $2000 to spend at that time, it would have come home with me.
