What is your unofficial or self-prescribed therapy?

My wife recently asked why I prefer the quiet of the National Forest land behind my house to the warmth and comforts of home... rain or shine. I didn't really have an answer for her. She tends to look at my "escapes" as she calls it, in a negative light. I look at it as my off the books therapy.
No I'm not officially diagnosed with PTS, many say I should head to the VA... that's another story. Yes I did a combat deployment to Afghanistan's Oruzgan Province in 2003. I self medicate. There are times where I find myself extremely frustrated with the day to day activities in a house with 2 kids and a dog. 6-8 miles later, stomping through the woods, I'm healed. My head is clear, short fuze has been lengthened. . .
So I ask you RP Community, what's your unofficial therapy? What centers you?
My hope is to share techniques that work for some, so that others can benefit as well.

Nature is the best place to clear your head. Although it may upset the spouse that you "do your own thing" for a few hours but we need that to reset our minds. I like to work out or swim or go on a nice hike when I'm frustrated or even to keep myself level headed. The worst thing you can do in my opinion is allow the military and it's BS interfere with our personal life. Makes for many negatives. Thus, take whatever outlet you can to relieve stress.

Listening to music:
Blues Travelers
Slipknot
Metallica (everything before LOAD)
Nonpoint
Limp Bizkit (except Gold Cobras, that was garbage)
In This Moment
Earth Wind and Fire
Michael Jackson (before Dangerous)
Nirvana
Basically, I get my morale and resiliency time from chilling to some jams. It helps distract me from the things that get me down.

It seems as if there are 2 types of Metallica fans. pre/post Load album. Though the last album had some good songs, but nothing like Puppets

Load was somber. I liked maybe three songs on that album. Reload was terrible. Both albums sounded like they lost their motivation and drive. Master of Puppets was one of their best albums ever, as it was neck and neck with ...And Justice for All. And Justice for all was just pure anger and torment. They never got to grieve the loss of Cliff. They just poured all their pain into the next album. They was real! They was them in your ears. After the Black album and their hiatus, it just went to shit. I didn't feel the sincerity anymore.

Building things, be it models or a toy box for my niece, it helps me get refocused. I have done lots of small projects around the house, I put up a pretty decent backsplash on the kitchen counter, replaced the sink and faucet in the kitchen and master bedroom.
Handy work I guess is a better term, but I do enjoy it.

Running or mountain biking, just to get outside by myself and push myself physically while having the personal space to think about life and reflect on whatever events are at the forefront of my mind at that current time in my life.

The answer here is a complex one the best therapy has been learning to balance life and my health needs. Proper nutrition and sleep that goes with a regular exercise regiment has been the best help. Aside from that escaping the world at the beach on a quiet day helps as well.
Fishing. I am an avid angler and feel at peace on the water. Surrounded by nature and all her beauty is just icing on the cake when that big bass is on the line! It is my new adrenalin and drug that makes the world seem alright. Nothing better than screaming across the lake at 74 mph on sheet of glass-still water, with the breeze in your face and uncontrollable grin.
Second is riding my Street Glide...whole different world and attitude!!

I practice the American martial art of gungobang. It helps me achieve focus, relaxation and catharsis all at the same time.
