At the end of this year i'll hit the 5 year mark in my military career. Although I do enjoy my MOS I truly doubt i'll continue doing this throughout my military career or even my civilian career once I do decide to get out. In your opinion which MOS do you feel benefits the most when switching from military life to civilian life?

Certanly not 11 bravo. Unless you want to join the Mafia or something like it, shooting people and blowing them up is not much use in the civillion world. This from a viet Nam grunt vet.

Comm, supply, intel and logistics. A competent network or data administrator has a good deal of experience that can benefit the IT world. Whenever one of my data/networking Marines get out, I don’t have to worry about them getting set up with a job. They usually have multiple offers 6-9 months before they EAS, if they want to stay in that line of work. Intel opens a lot of doors if you have a Top Secret clearance no matter the rank. Supply and logistics may require you to be a SNCO or higher to have the kind of experience civilian companies are looking for. ATC is another good one, their school house certifies them through the FAA.

I did it, 25 series, for 12 years. Hated it. Now I am almost done with resource management, love it

It depends on the societal relationship with the military when you leave the military. I got out in '84 as a 91A (Basic Combat Medic). I knew how to give shots, start IV's and do sutures among other things. I could not get a job as a candy striper. I'm hearing stories recently about medics getting jobs as paramedics and EMS workers.

Did you say get out? Your profile says you are a Reservist, you're already a civilian for 90% of the year. There's nothing for you to get out of.

SFC (Join to see)
SGT (Join to see) lol that wasn't meant as an insult. I was in the National Guard too. But you are a civilian 90% of the time. You're not subject to UCMJ except while activated. Your unit or command doesn't control every day of your life. In the NG you are losing 24 days a year of weekends and two more weeks. It's a side job with good benefits and a great TA program and retirement supplement. There's no job that will hire you based off the MOS work you did in the Reserves for, at most, 39 days out of the year.

It’s depends on what you wanna to help benefit you the most for example if you wanna be a chef outside the military then be a 92G cook in the military then transition or 88m truck driver. It all depend on what you wanna be and your goals.
