I’m sure I already know the answer to this but, I’d like to know for sure. Is 88m the only MOS that requires you to get a military CDL or is there another MOS that requires a CDL?

There's no such thing as a military CDL.Theres a Commercial Driver's license and a Military Driver's license state issued driver's license. Anyone with a state issued driver's license who is trained on a specific military vehicle can be issued a military driver's license for that piece of equipment. There are several jobs that require a state issued driver's license. People with a CDL and several years experience can join the Army as an 88M under the ACASP program

MAJ Javier Rivera oh yes, ACASP is still bringing people in and based on their experience giving them promotions. I have a friend who was an experienced Dental Tech and she was brought in as a SGT.

Good, that's how I remember it, the program granted accelerated promotions to those who qualified (licenses, credentials, and years of experience, etc..).

To add on here, the CDL is required for certain over public road missions. Usually driving a commercial reefer or hauling HAZMAT. So if the commander wants that done, they Need to resource you to get a CDL, so maybe 92F and 89 series

The Air Force has the new AAMVA program which is entirely like the CDL; exam, inspection, and drivers exam. They are 2T2

The Air Force is taking steps to turn government vehicle operator certifications into commercial driver’s licenses. By creating a course to mirror the American Association of Motor Vehicle

49th LRS implements new CDL test
Holloman Air Force Base is the ninth Air Force installation to adopt the new American Association for Motor Vehicle Administrator/Commercial Driver License certification process. The Air Force Headquarters standardized a lesson plan primarily based off of AAMVA standards.

As said by others, there is no CDL requirement for 88M, but an 88M could get a CDL in their state.
I had a 92A E4 do the leg work with our State's DMV and I singed on the dotted line for him. He was stacked (it filled two pages) with military vehicles on his military DL, and he had the hours. So the State granted him a CDL.
My understanding in our state is an 88M would be automatic CDL with the proper paperwork.
Now, if you ENLIST and GO IN the Army with a CDL my understanding is you can enter as an E4. I saw this happen with a Basic Training classmate.

If I enlisted with a CDL, would I need years of experience to obtain the E4 ranking when I head to BCT? Or would I just need to have the CDL in general?
