RP Members, Connections, and Friends I believe there are some really outrageous nicknames that have been handed out to some of you when you served in the Military. Lets' get them out there and don't be embarrased. Please share! This is one of those Posts that just keep giving over time. RP Members keep adding your nicknames.
Don't leave us hanging - share the story behind the nickname too!!
One of my many was: "Burly" and when I was a PFC/E-3 it was "Horse Collar!" Others I can't repeat from Basic Training - use your imagination!

Bulldog...because once I bit into something I didn't turn loose until it was complete...that and I was hardheaded and a little bit stocky.

Lt Col Scott Shuttleworth
COL Mikel J. Burroughs - Unfortunately, it was a principle that I stood my ground on not a sandwich...although a sandwich sure would have tasted better than the crow in the end when I was told to back off because that is the way it is moving forward. I have a tendency to not let things go when my mind is made up...something I have had to work on my entire life. COL Mikel J. Burroughs

I was fortunate about not getting a nickname. Did have one SGT who tried to tag me with Trish the Dish but I put an end to that immediately!! Not fond of nicknames due to the bullying I dealt with in school.

Capt Christian D. Orr
Should be at least somewhat self-explanatory; the original military phonetic spellout of my name, modified based upon my reputation as a ladies' man. Acquired when I was an E-3 (Airman 1st Class) at Minot AFB, ND, 2000.

I have had Rosie red cheeks since I was born. During my second tour my guys were coming up with nicknames for the radio and they looked at me and said “sergeant your Call sign will be Rosie” to which I responded “real fucking creative” the nickname stuck and to this day when my boys see my in civilian life it’s hey Rosie.

Mine was eighty-second.
I didn't have one until I transferred to a unit deploying to Iraq. The unit had lots of fans who watched war movies and shows like Band of Brothers. They immediately recognized my former unit the 504th was in the 82nd and it kinda stuck. It was also really, really weird how some of them would touch my wings. Although I did find it slightly arousing... but in a strictly platonic yet professional way.

With my last name of Swansen there was only one that they could call me, SWANNIE. Once in a while there would be a smart ass and mimic the Al Jolson song
