RP Members, Connections, and Friends I believe there are some really outrageous nicknames that have been handed out to some of you when you served in the Military. Lets' get them out there and don't be embarrased. Please share! This is one of those Posts that just keep giving over time. RP Members keep adding your nicknames.

Don't leave us hanging - share the story behind the nickname too!!

One of my many was: "Burly" and when I was a PFC/E-3 it was "Horse Collar!" Others I can't repeat from Basic Training - use your imagination!

"Airman Tumbles". While running in formation behind our 5'1" guidon bearer (I am 5'10") I accidentally clipped the back of her boot (yes, we ran in boots) and tumbled out of formation. I jumped back up, and ran back into my position, and from then on I was "Airman Tumbles" to my TI.

I also drove the "vomit van" on the flight line in the Philippines, taking F-4 pilots out to their planes for sorties and picking them up (hence the vomit van name). My radio call sign was "Wheels". Wheels to the Flightline over the radio. After they got to know me they changed by call sign to "Tyrant", cuz I didn't put up with shit. LOL

I got off the train in Helmstedt West Germany and the guy who picked me up took one look at me name tag and from that moment until I left I was known as "Horny", by all the guys and the locals. I actually think that some of the guys never knew my name, just the nickname.

My nickname in the Army was "SGT Rock" because I was so hardcore. I think that might have been a comic book character back then. My son joined and because of his name, they nicknamed him "Rock!" Like father like son I guess.
